After watching the Coded Bias documentary, I was shocked by what I learned. Especially since, before watching this documentary, I did not think computers or AI, to be more specific, could be biased since computers use algorithms primarily based on math. Nor can they affect us in our daily life until we learn that they already are. When this revelation became a central theme, this became a scary situation because identification is not the worry; the worry is the misidentification. In my opinion, what became even more sinister is how they said that the difference between the US and China is that in China, they are being transparent about it, while here in the States, they are not, and it is being done in secret.
